The authority is governed board of directors appointed by the state president and confirmed by parliament. The chairperson of the board is appointed by the president while the vice chairperson is selected by the board on its first meeting.
The board is supported by six ex-official: Secretary for Transport and Public Works, Secretary to the Treasury, Secretary for Defence, Secretary for Home Land Security and Secretary for Tourism. The board members have a tenure of office of three years with possibility to be reappointed. The board of directors are responsible for appointing the director general for the CAA. The board is accountable for the performance of the authority in carrying out its mandate.
The Authority regulates and is responsible for the safety, security, economic and technical oversight of civil.
